TASHKENT, Uzbekistan : India’s young boxing contingent continued to impress on the continental stage at the Asian Boxing U15 & U17 Championships 2026, delivering a series of convincing victories and demonstrating depth across age groups in Tashkent.

Dominant Day in U-15 Boys’ Competition

In the U-15 boys’ category, India’s talent shone through early in the tournament:

Nongpoknganba Meitei Oina (46kg) set the tone with a 5–0 unanimous victory against Kazakhstan’s Abdurakhman Vushanlo, showcasing tactical discipline and sharp counter-punching.

Parshant (49kg) mirrored this result with another 5–0 triumph over Bakdaulet Akhmet of Kazakhstan, underlining India’s defensive solidity.

Mohd Yasser (58kg) stole the spotlight with a first-round RSC (Referee Stopped Contest) win over Kyrgyzstan’s Akbarzhan Nabidzhanov, reflecting his aggressive style and ring control.

Nivesh Pal (54kg) continued India’s streak with another 5–0 win, again against Adilet Galiyev of Kazakhstan.

Ranveer (66kg) advanced via walkover against Chinese Taipei’s Ying-Chieh Chen, maintaining momentum for India’s camp.

Not all bouts went India’s way in the U-15 bracket, with Lilmani Singh Lukram (61kg) and Mehul Rana (70kg) suffering RSC defeats against more experienced foes, illustrating the varied challenges young boxers face at elite levels.

U-17 Session: Consistency and Power Boxing

In the evening session, India’s U-17 competitors continued the country’s strong showing:

Pal Nivesh (54kg) delivered a convincing 5–0 victory once again over Adilet Galiyev, emphasizing his consistent form through the tournament.

Ranveer (66kg) secured another win, this time by ABD (abandonment) against Chinese Taipei’s Ying-Chieh Chen.

Lakshay Phogat (75kg) impressed with a first-round RSC victory over Sri Lanka’s Ranchigodagama Arachchila, providing one of India’s most emphatic performances of the day.

Meanwhile, Pradeep (63kg) and Hanjra Jaideep Singh (80kg) faced setbacks, going down 0–5 against Uzbekistan’s Rushen Saydullaev and Kazakhstan’s Alibek Alpamys respectively, underscoring the high level of competition at this event.
